Orchestre d ́occasion is a contemporary music ensemble based in Basel. Originating from improvisation, they combine acoustic and electronic music, visuals and composition. They are characterised by an extremely communicative interplay that enables quick and unforeseen changes. Their different musical backgrounds in contemporary music, classical, baroque and jazz combine to create a completely new and programmatic sound language that is unique to the ensemble. Humour and a sense of the surreal run like a fine red thread through their work.
