A film, running on a continuous loop, that harbours an incredible surprise: whenever the sound of red wine jazz, syncopation-free beer-tent faves or phony rock 'n' roll emerges from somewhere (anywhere!), eight superheroes break out of their screen existence, actually manifesting in the real world, both physically and tonally, leaping from their two-dimensional home to the 3D realm of the stage – as the stately troupe known on this side as 8 SONNEURS. Safely on their feet, they circle up and make their allegiance clear with a battle-cry: "For Phillip Glass!" Woe unto them who would attempt to oppose the sonic fury of their Breton trélombardes and cornemuses, the piercing frequencies of their binious or the sonic splintering of their powerful bombardes barytons!

But beware: this time out, they're battling a true cover villain – a German trumpet player and crooner who has, over the past 25 years, built a powerful empire on tranquilizing background music, trendy train-wrecks and showmanship as seductive as it is un-self-critical – a truly irresistible cocktail for the average mortal. In the parallel unimoers he's plotting to create, "Einstein" would be retroactively prevented from ever taking a stroll "on the beach".  That's why it is all the more important that director Erwan Keravec has given his guild four pioneering Glass compositions written in 1969 ("Two Pages", "Music in Fifths", "Music in Contrary Motion", "Music in Similar Motion") to assist them in fulfilling their mission. His only concern is that his film might be paused for a moment at some point, allowing the German trumpet player to finally succeed in realising his plans for world domination…
Incidentally, Captain Niederrhein has already had occasion to hear the film, commenting thereafter: "Every breath taken by every single animal, human and plant since the very beginning of time to the present moment continues to resonate within this loop."

(Info box: editor's note: The SONNEURS are a millennia-old guild which, in an unswerving belief in the power of minimalism, tonal justice and sonic peace, is able to awaken and bundle their individual superpowers to beat back their opponents with sound aggregates. During a molecular frequency storm, the overtones of their archaic instruments accidently formed a runaway bio-feedback loop and our heroes were torn from 3D reality by a hazy spot in the circle of fifths and transformed into nondescript two-dimensional screen musicians. However, the moment tasteless music becomes perceptible in this dimension, penetrating from without, the 8 SONNEURS are rematerialized and instantly capable of unleashing a wall of sound of enormous power outside of the screen, one exponentially greater than the sum of their individual superpowers. In this manner, over the years they have managed to dispose of Udo Jürgens or Ibo, for instance, as well as a couple of geezers who gather no moss, if you get our drift… (nothing earth-shattering, but still!).

The High Council of the 8 SONNEURS consists of four permanent and four temporary members elect.

The four permanent members of the council are:
Erwan Keravec – bagpipes, Mickaël Cozien – biniou koz, Erwan Hamon – bombard, Guénolé Keravec – trélombard

The four SONNEURS without a permanent appointment are:
Gaël Chauvin – bombard, Gweltaz Hervé – bagpipe, Vincent Marin – bombard, Enora Morice – biniou
