It definitely takes an extraordinary configuration of superpowers to persist throughout the ages in the eternal struggle against the machinations of "The Iron Lady": On the isles, in the future-present Professor Hawkins and Bat Charles combat the repercussions of her misdeeds – while in the present-past Medusa Brüssel and Rocket Wittbrodt hurry to their aid from the continent. The rampant disequilibrium caused by Iron Lady is no less than Earth-shaking. CRASH! Is she still around or what?
On December 7 2023, four unique specialists finally met up – in London's Cafe OTO, of all places – in order to harness their incredible abilities to neutralise processes and ramifications that still echo throughout the land and beyond: Professor Hawkins, tethered to an array of keyboards ever since a sound synthesis experiment went dreadfully wrong, has 88 prepared keys at his disposal to react to runaway Thatcherisms. CLONG. The old warhorse Bat Charles crashed on a remote island in 1982 during the Falkland War, and has lived ever since in a contaminated bass cave (now under conservation) that enables him to travel through time and the entire frequency spectrum. BRRUUOOMHUUAHPSIIYHysh!
In her private life, Medusa Brüssel works as an administrator in the EU Parliament (what a coincidence!) – however, as soon as a state-owned enterprise anywhere in Europe is due to be privatised, she transforms into a virtuoso tone-garland-spouting sound emitter to nip such developments in the bud toot-sweet (as a child, during a violin lesson she got caught in an enharmonic mix-up between détente policy and monetarism, in which parts of her personality remain forever trapped). Finally, there's Rocket Wittbrodt, who disappeared through the ozone hole above the Antarctic (discovered in 1985 by British researchers) after her family (descendants of German immigrants in Yorkshire) faded away during the Big Bang event that followed the miners' strikes. (BANG!) It wasn't until decades later that Rocket Wittbrodt, somehow with a younger appearance (and equipped with cosmic super-ray powers), began to turn up repeatedly in the present day to defend the European ideal. Haha! The Justice League will definitely show the Iron Lady! Showdown in Moers, in the park, amid alpacas, hippies, moersland (VR) and street food stands?
Meanwhile, it's worth noting that Captain Niederrhein already observed decades ago regarding Brexit: "Tea is the refuge of the introverted."
Medusa Brüssel, Bat Charles, Professor Hawkins and Rocket Wittbrodt reflected for a while, then took up keys and strings and began to focus their energies, before setting off in search of new sound battens…
