John Zorn had to cancel because…

… he feels streaming is fundamentally really self-effacing from the artist’s perspective. And we understand and respect that. Because when one finally does receive an invoice for streaming royalties after months of waiting, one is forced to ask one’s self every time who is really paying for the stamps on the envelope when it coms down to it. And since John Zorn generally prefers not to have his compositions streamed in the current situation as well, the extraordinary Barbara Hannigan and the fantastic Steve Gosling will remain in North America this year. Understandable and of course a pity too. But maybe it will work out next year.
