debacker – zwißler – hübsch – nillesen
Belgian pianist Marlies Debacker manages to exceptionally embody a sort of contemporary musician that is impossible to pigeonhole: she interprets the music of Helmut Lachenmann, for example, as adeptly and authentically as she moves surely and imaginatively, like a lucid dreamer, through the freest of contexts. Both spheres intermesh and enrich one another, as her collaboration with these three amazing colleagues from Cologne attests. Finest structures, mercilessly delicate developments, complete dissolution into a greater whole in the scope of intense sound research. Sensuality and intellectual acuity of the highest level.
