ReVisiting Moers

History and stories

An international festival is a polyphonic orchestra consisting of artists, visitors, organizers, helping hands, but also memories, anecdotes, emotions, reactions and reviews. Especially when the festival has been founded by protagonists of the German student movement and today is visited by digital natives.

Ethnologist Kerstin Eckstein PhD has pursued countless opinions, archived, proofread, collected and sorted. But not only material from the last 49 years of the festival was used, companions and observers were also asked for their written contributions.

The outcome is a many-voiced published work, a compendium of half a century of improvisation, provocation, refusal and faith, provinciality and cosmopolitanism and brave radicalism.

There will be a digital version for the digital natives, but also a printed version for the former members of the student movement.
